BRIDGEWERKS BEGINNINGS
POWERED BY QUALITY
MADE IN THE U.S.A.
Bridgewerks has its humble beginnings in the garage of the founder, David Sauerwald.

In Dave's garage some years ago, we set to making a simple bridge for the family's LGB model train. We wanted a bridge in our layout, which traditionally was brought out at Thanksgiving and put away at New Years.

Oddly, our first bridge was made from wood, and, by our standards today, is definitely not worthy of showing to anybody other than family. This wood bridge is 6 feet long and probably not to the proper scale. However, upon completion, we said "hey, this could be a business;" we did not begin the business until 3 1/2 years later!

Our use of materials changed from wood to aluminum and our construction methods, while complicated, provided a bridge that was much more durable. After more than a year of development our first bridge, the Rosecrans, finally took shape. It was introduced, along with our company, at the 1996 Big Train Show on the Queen Mary in Long Beach, California.

Since that time, we have introduced many additional products and have sold the Bridge Division to HR Trains of Florida who continue to build these fine bridges today.

Bridgewerks continues to build the Magnum Power Controllers and remote controls. We are constantly working to bring you innovative products built with the Bridgewerks renowned quality and backed by our unequaled five year warranty.

In late February of 2004 we packed up and moved out of California. And, like all the things we do, we made a huge move all the way across the country and landed in Durham, North Carolina. Here we have 2 1/2 times the factory space in which to tinker, er, build!

Please tour our site and visit us often, you never know what will show up in our new products section. Of course, if you have questions or would like to place an order you can call your dealer, or Bridgewerks at 800.908.9997 or contact us via e-mail (click here)
